Press Release
It is my distinct pleasure to announce that Edmond Martin is hereby awarded the Gold Seal Commendation.
Edmond Martin is awarded this Meritorious Commendation for Investigative Excellence for his investigation of the death of 19-year old Rio Nicholas of Fredericksburg who was found dead in his Colorado college dormitory in 2001. Ed was retained by the parents of the deceased student in December of 2002, 9 months after Nicholas’ death. Ed proceeded to Golden, Colorado, where, amongst other things, he located and interviewed 20 witnesses. Ed did an excellent job investigating this case and bringing to light several critical evidentiary items that exposed the police investigation as incompetent. He discovered convincing evidence that the death scene was staged which is the basis on which a law suit has been filed.
We commend Ed Martin for demonstrating the highest proficiency of professional skills and investigative expertise in the performance of the investigation of this case.
The certificate will be awarded to Ed in a ceremony at the June 2006 TALI convention.

In a November 23, 2005 article, reporter Chuck Lindell of the Austin American Statesman referred to TALI member Edmond Martin as “a shrewd private investigator from Austin who had helped solve the disappearance of atheist Madalyn O'Hair during a 26-year career as an Internal Revenue Service special agent.”
