Sage Investigations, LLC is powered by Cynic DIO which Sage uses to build evidence for investigations involving forensic accounting and fraud investigation. DIO goes beyond the spreadsheet applications with greater search and organizational capabilities. It allows access to a database with virtually an unlimited data set. Recently, Sage used Cynic DIO to analyze 51 bank accounts over a five year period resulting in 46,500 individual transactions which were documented by bank statement and check images through the Document and Discovery Organization Process (DDOP). The DDOP combines procedures and software tools to ensure evidence / discovery (paper or electronic data) is organized and more accurate than ever before. By using Optical Character Recognition software and DDOP documentary evidence is converted into organized transactions; giving the investigator the ability to sort, filter, view, and categorize the data. At the end of DDOP, all evidence is organized and every transaction is linked with the corresponding document image from which the information came, this allows for total control and accuracy within your case.
Once organized, the data is moved into Cynic DIO software application for use of our Forensic Accountants, Investigators, and Fraud Examiners to further develop the evidence for their purpose or that of our client. This is where the final organization, investigation, and case management transpire. DIO allows evidence including bank accounts, brokerage accounts, credit cards, and assets, liabilities, and cash on hand to be updated, correlated, compared, and classified. DIO then allows the Sage Investigator to generate Indirect Methods of Proof, as well as more traditional Source and Application of Funds statements. The reports will allow the investigator to be confident in the results.
